In times of crisis, the strength of a community shines the brightest. To date, NCJW|LA has provided more than $180,000 in clothing vouchers to families and individuals impacted by the wildfires.
NCJW|LA’s Rapid Response:
Working in Collaboration
Partnering with Los Angeles County’s emergency response system, 211LA, to connect 4,000+ impacted individuals with NCJW|LA’s services; securing networks of trusted on-the-ground partners to ensure we are filling gaps and do not duplicate efforts.
Collection & Distribution
Collecting and sorting thousands of pounds of donated clothing, shoes, and household items; rapidly implementing wide-scale distribution to affected individuals, including a free ‘super store’ near Altadena that will be open for those impacted by the fires to shop 4 days a week starting in March 2025.
Taking Action
Increasing volunteers, adding staff hours, and committing funds from our own emergency reserves to invest in short and long-term support for women in Los Angeles County.
Rebuilding Foundations
Launching a 24-month direct cash assistance program to support a minimum of 100 impacted families led by single, female heads of household.
