
Career MOMentum
Overview
Career MOMentum helps women build the skills, experience, and confidence to find stable, higher-paying jobs and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Designed for women who are the primary providers in their households, this program combines job training with personalized career support to help participants prepare for meaningful employment. Along the way, women gain practical experience, strengthen their financial knowledge, and build lasting connections with a supportive community.
Participants receive:
- Career Training & Certifications: Earn three NRF Foundation RISE Up credentials in Retail Industry Fundamentals, Customer Service & Sales, and Supply Chain, Inventory & Logistics.
- Hands-On Work Experience: Gain real-world retail experience while building customer service, teamwork, communication, and other transferable skills.
- Personalized Career Coaching: Receive one-on-one support with your resume, interview skills, career goals, and job or education search.
- Financial Education: Build practical money skills to manage your finances, plan for the future, and work toward greater financial stability.
- Health & Wellness Support: Learn strategies to support your mental health, well-being, and long-term career success.
- Career & Employer Exposure: Explore different career pathways, workplaces, and employment opportunities to help identify your next step.
- A Supportive Community: Connect with other women who share experiences, encourage one another, and grow together.
Virtual Info Sessions
Join a virtual information session to learn about Career MOMentum, eligibility, program expectations, and how to apply.
Registration is required to attend a virtual information session.
Eligibility
- Identify as a woman and be 18 years or older
- Be currently unemployed and actively seeking employment
- Not be enrolled as a full-time student
- Live within approximately 17 miles of ZIP code 90048
- Be interested in retail, customer service, warehouse, inventory, distribution, or related careers
- Be available Monday–Wednesday, approximately 25 hours per week
- Commit to completing both required 6-week phases
- Have reliable transportation to required in-person locations
- Participate in career coaching and job-placement activities
- Meet low-to-moderate income guidelines
Part-time students may be eligible if they can fully participate in the program schedule and are actively seeking employment.

14-Week Program | 3 Days a Week
Monday and Wednesday: In Person
Tuesday: Virtual
Phase 1 – Career Training | 6 Weeks

To Complete Your Application, You’ll Need:
- Proof of Income: Current pay stubs, W-2 forms, bank statements, 1099 forms, Social Security statements, and unemployment benefit statements
- Proof of Address: Utility bill (within the last 60 days), bank statements, credit card statements, lease agreement, mortgage statements, government-issued documents, insurance documents
- Government-Issued ID: Driver’s license, state-issued ID, U.S. passport, passport card, U.S. Military ID, Tribal ID, Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
