Fore Women was honored to welcome staff from Senator Caroline Menjivar’s District Office for a tour of our Burbank Fore Goods store on Wednesday, August 26.
Staff from the Advocacy, Development, and Retail teams came together to share how Fore Goods is more than a thrift store. Our seven stores across Los Angeles are a vital part of our work, creating jobs and workforce training opportunities while providing affordable, high-quality goods to the community.
At Fore Goods, every donation and purchase helps drive our work forward.
Through our workplace training program, participants gain hands-on experience in customer service, inventory and stock management, and other skills that can help prepare them for future employment opportunities. Our stores also provide employees with fair wages, consistent scheduling, and full benefits.
During the visit, District Representative Olivia Hokr shared how much she enjoys searching for unique finds at our stores and appreciates knowing that her purchases help support Fore Women’s programs. The visit was also an opportunity to highlight the many ways Fore Goods supports the Los Angeles community. By offering high-quality, gently used clothing, household items, and more at low prices and without sales tax, our stores help community members find what they need while keeping more money in their pockets. Keeping goods in circulation also helps reduce waste and the environmental impact of consumerism.
After the tour, all three District Office staff members continued exploring the store and found items they were excited to take home.
