Yes. This program is open to all residents regardless of citizenship status.​

All selected participants will receive benefits counseling before they enroll in the program. Waivers have been obtained through the Department of Social Services, and the following benefits will not be impacted:  CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs (Los Angeles County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County Only).​

Your information will only be shared with organizations helping operate the program, such as identity verification, communications, or payment providers, and only when needed. We will never sell your information.

To apply for this program, AidKit, Fore Women, Community for Gauranted Income Research (CGIR), Community Financial Resources (CFR), and approved service providers may collect, use, and share some of your personal information.

This may include your:

• name and contact information
• date of birth or address
• income or work information
• government ID or selfie photo/video

We use this information to:

• confirm who you are and if you qualify
• send payments
• contact you about the program
• prevent fraud and keep the program secure
• follow legal and program rules
• understand how the program is working and improve services

Applicants must reside in Los Angeles County, Riverside County or San Bernardino County in order to be eligible for the program. If you are selected to participant in the program and should you move outside of these Counties during the program, but remain in California, you will continue to be enrolled in the program and receive payments, but we cannot guarantee benefit protections and wraparound services will be limited.

No, the cash assistance does not need to be paid back and there are no restrictions on how you can spend your funds. There is no fee to apply or join this program.

Fore Women staff and Research Partners will know who is enrolled. We will not disclose your information or participation to anyone without your permission. You do not have to tell anyone unless otherwise discussed during your benefits counseling session. ​

No, it is not because the money is considered a gift and does not exceed the threshold of $19,000/year per tax guidelines.​

All eligible applicants who are not selected as one of the initial 30 recipients, will automatically be re-enrolled in any randomizations for future cohorts, pending additional funding. All eligible applicants who opt-in to receive referrals to other services and programs will be contacted regardless of enrollment in the direct cash program.
